Our family physicians are involved in all aspects of primary care, and act as mentors to medical students, medical residents, and nurse practitioner students.
The Central Brampton Family Health Team Physicians includes:
Dr. Agarwal graduated from the University of Toronto in 1994 and completed his residency in Family Medicine in 1996. He then went on to do a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Agarwal continues to be active in Emergency Medicine at the Brampton Civic Hospital as well as being an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at McMaster University.
Dr. Byrne graduated from University of Toronto Medical School in 1975 and has been with Brampton East Medical group for 36 years. His practice is multi-generational as he has only recently stopped delivering babies. He has 3 grown children of his own and is grand-father to a very special boy, Michael.
Dr. Joza graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School after immigrating to Canada in 1969 from Czechoslovakia. She completed her Family Medicine at Ottawa Civic Hospital where she continued on as staff in the Oncology Department. She then came to Brampton East Medical Group in 1981 and has been an active member of our group since that time.
Dr. Kostopoulos completed her residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University in 2007. She has a full time comprehensive practice at the Central Brampton Family Health Team. Dr. Kostopoulos is actively involved in teaching residents both at the Central Brampton Family Health Team and through the small group problem based learning sessions at Brampton Civic Hospital.
Dr. Mak graduated from the Residency program at McMaster University in Emergency and Family Medicine. He joined Brampton East Medical Group since 1999. He is interested in providing family practice care to the whole family especially youth and elderly. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and has served at Yee Hong nursing home for six years.
Dr. Manson graduated from Queen’s University Medical School in 1991 and completed a residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University. She is one of less than 100 physicians in the world who have been granted a Fellowship in the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She is on active staff at Brampton Civic Hospital and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University. She accepts patients for prenatal care, breastfeeding consultations and has an active practice in family medicine here at the Central Brampton Family Health Team.
Dr. Pede graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 1981, completing her residency in Family Medicine at the North York General Hospital. She is on Active Staff at the Brampton Civic Hospital site of the William Osler Health System, where she practices Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine in addition to her Family Practice. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University and holds a Transport Canada appointment as a Civil Aviation Medical Examiner.
Dr. Shilash completed his residency at McMaster University. He is on active staff at Brampton Civic Hospital and attends to patients in the complex care unit. Dr. Shilash accepts patients for obstetrical care. Dr. Shilash joined Brampton East Medical Group in 2004, and currently has an active practice here at the Central Brampton Family Health Team.
